Post-Lockdown Practicalities

The beautiful open spaces of the Lake District are a perfect place to be now we can all travel again. We felt lucky to live here in the lockdowns of 2020 and 2021 and make the most of open spaces to walk, cycle and swim.

We are doing everything we can to reduce risks both for yourselves and our family. We have done online courses and following guidance from Visit England, the AA, the Bed and Breakfast Association and the Professional Association of Self-Catering.

Fortunately we are a very small B&B. Our maximum number of guests is 11. We have introduced measures to enable guests to social distance as much as possible. We have been delighted to receive positive feedback from recent guests on how safe they feel. Just email or call if you have any questions.

Our cleaning routines and laundry remain at the very highest standards, following government and WHO guidelines. Our laundry company, for example, follows NHS standards on processing bedlinen and towels.

While staying with us please use the fabulous hand-sanitiser from the award-winning Pure Lakes.

We follow all Covid19 guidance and have some lovely hand sanister for guests to use.

For our B&B guests a few changes are necessary. In order to facilitate social distancing we offer breakfast in the garden (on those warm Cumbrian mornings), and timed sittings in the dining room and lounge.  We can also offer accommodation with no breakfast (at a reduced rate).  Portinscale has some fabulous cafes for breakfast:  The Chalet – a minute from the front door or Lingholm – a lovely garden and popular cafe, 15 minutes walk along the lakeside.

For our self-catering guests there are few changes needed, as you have The Mount on as exclusive basis and so you will not be in contact with any other guests or us.

Please email or phone us with any questions you may have about social distancing procedures at The Mount. We can send you our Covid-19 risk assessment policy if you would like.
