From ghyll-scrambling, to quad biking, to Via Ferrata – the North Lakes is full of options for adrenalin junkies… Our children absolutely love ghyll-scrambling (climbing up or down waterfalls and pools of cold water!) whatever the weather – and it is actually really good fun! There are lots of activity places nearby that do this, such as Ghyll Scrambling at Newlands Activity Centre.
If you are a thrill seeker – there you really cannot miss Via Ferrata at Honister, you need a head for heights and nerves of steel to get across their infinity bridge, suspended across a valley in stunning scenery. But Honister also offers something for everyone – from an interesting tour of the slate mine to actually climbing inside the mine (a great activity if it happens to rain in the Lakes!).
