Get Extreme

From ghyll-scrambling, to quad biking, to Via Ferrata – the North Lakes is full of options for adrenalin junkies… Our children absolutely love ghyll-scrambling (climbing up or down waterfalls and pools of cold water!) whatever the weather. And it is actually really good fun! There are lots of activity places nearby that do this, such as Ghyll Scrambling at Newlands Activity Centre.

If you are a thrill seeker – there you really cannot miss Via Ferrata at Honister. You need a head for heights and nerves of steel to get across their infinity bridge, suspended across a valley in stunning scenery. But Honister also offers something for everyone – from an interesting tour of the slate mine to actually climbing inside the mine (a great activity if it happens to rain in the Lakes!).

Other exciting activities nearby are paragliding, climbing at Go-Ape, quad-biking and tubing down the rivers.
